She was falling.

It seemed like she would never stop falling from the cliff. She had tears pouring down her face.

She closed her eyes and imangined the love of her life, the cause of what was happining to her now, and smiled. Oh how she loved his smile. She would always remember him and would wait till the end of the earth for him. She sighed as she remembered how this had all started.

FLASHBACK:

The crowd continued to cheer for the singers that had just finished their performance in Middlebrow Tokyo.

The main singer, Kagome Higurashi, smiled and bowed towards the crowd. Sango, the demon slayer, followed suit as well as Miroku and Inuyasha.
Kagome wasn't your everyday teenager. She was a miko as well as her cousin Kikyo. Kagome had long black hair with blue highlights and big brown chocolate eyes. Her skin was slightly tan and she was about 5'7''. She was the average height and she was proud of herself. People teased her often but she didn't care or quite frankly, didn't really care. She had a younger brother named, Souta, and they lived with her mother and Grandpa. Her father? Well, let's just say that he died years ago before Souta was born in a car accident.
Sango wasn't the average teenager either. She had brown hair and dark brown eyes - kinda like Kagome's except slightly darker. She wore her favorite color eyeshadow, pink everyday. She was only 1 inch taller than Kagome - so that made her about 5'8''. Her skin was a paler tan than Kagome's and she was a demon slayer. Both of her parents and her brother died when she was little and she was lucky enough to have met Kagome. Kagome and her family insisted that she would live with them. They treated her like her old family - but better.

Now, on with the boys. Inuyasha, sadly, has a very short temper. He, along with the other three in the band, wasn't average either. He got teased constantly like Kagome, but he was despised by everyone. Why? Because he was a hanyou. His mother is human while his father was a taiyoukai. Before Inuyasha was born, his father had been with another woman. His father and the other lady had an only son named Sesshomaru, Inuyasha's older half brother. They didn't like each other very much. Inuyasha had pure silver hair and dog ears on the top of his head that matched the color of his hair. Unlike everybody else, he had golden amber eyes. Miroku on the other hand was a monk. Wait - no, scratch that - Miroku wasn't even a monk! He was more of like a...uh...a lecher! No, a pervert more specifically. He had dark, almost black, hair with purple highlights and very dark purple eyes. Miroku wasn't tan but he wasn't pale either. He was more of in the middle. He was a more of a patient man - he had the patience of a Monk - but, sadly, his actions say the opposite.

The band walked off stage after receiving roses from many people and 'I love you guys!' or 'You guys are the best!' It made Kagome smile and tears come to her eyes. Her father was a singer also. She promised her father that she would continue his dream one day. And yet, here she was! With her best friends that she treated like family. Inuyasha yawned and stretched.

"Ugh..what another great performance guys." He said with a smile on his face.

Kagome nodded her head and smiled. Sango stopped and turned around to face everyone. "Hey, why don't we go down to Dairy Queen and get something to eat?" Sango insisted.

Everyone agreed and they all jumped into Kagome's car, since she had offered to pick up everyone and drive them to their performance. Before Kagome started the car she sighed and waited for everyone to settle in and leaned her head on the steering wheel. She jumped a little bit when she felt a clawed hand on her shoulder and she looked up to be met with concerned amber filled orbs.

"Hey, Kagome? Are you...alright?" Inuyasha asked. Kagome faked a smile and said; "Un, I'm alright Inuyasha." She said with fake happiness and drove towards the all too familiar ice cream shop.

They had arrived minuets later to be met with the familiar coldness and the smell of fruits. Sango and Miroku smiled. Kagome sighed in bliss. Oh how they all loved sweets. Expessically when it came to their best friend's ice cream.

Someone behind the counter perked up from their spot and a wide smile spread along their pale face. "Ah! Kagome! Inuyasha! Miroku! Sango! Come on over here, you're table's this way." She said happily and led them to their favorite table. It was true, they sat at the very same table every time they would come here. No matter if it was just Kagome or just Sango. The owner would let them and only them sit their. It was like it was their own property and nobody could use it.

"Well how did your performance go this time? Good I hope." the girl said. The girl had bright green eyes and she said that she was a wolf demon. She had bright red/orange hair and a short temper towards annoying people...ahem..like Miroku.

"Yeah, it was amazing!" Miroku said waving his hands in the air empathizing his point.                        "Alright....do you guys want your usual?" Ayame asked. They all said their versions of 'okays' or 'yes please.' But, Inuyasha just said what was lead to believe to be his favorite word: 'Keh.' Ayame rolled her eyes and said "Alright. They'll be ready in a few minutes."

Minutes later and Inuyasha in the bathroom.....

"Well.." Miroku said who was sitting next to Sango. "Kago-" He was about to say something when he saw her grinning like an idiot.

Miroku stared at her with complete and utter fear. When Kagome was grinning like that towards someone, something bad was about to happen. It was pretty rare that Kagome like this. That was what made it scary. Everyone knew to stay clear of Kagome when she got like that or if she got angry. Usually when Kagome got mad, most likely death was promising. He gulped.

Sango looked at what he was staring at and she almost choked on her milkshake. Sango was about to say something when Kagome started laughing. Not the everyday happy laughter, but the weird and evil-like laughter. The two humans just stared at their friend not knowing what was wrong with her.

Inuyasha came back about 5 minutes after Kagome started laughing. He stopped in his tracks and his eye started to twitch. The annoying, unnatural, scary laughter that was coming from Kagome was starting to get to him. However, how much he wanted to smack Kagome on the side of the head, his damn human emotions wouldn't let him. Plus, boys weren't really allowed to hit girls. Instead, he walked right over to their table and leaned over towards Miroku. Since Miroku was in 'la la land,' Inuyasha thought to hit HIM on the side of the head at the moment. He smirked when Miroku snapped out of his daze and clutched his head in pain and Sango gave Inuyasha a death glare and continued to eat her milkshake.

After a few moments Kagome still hadn't seized her laughter. Right now, Miroku had about 10 bumps on his head from a certain hanyou. Sango was trying her best to ignore the pained baby cries from her friend and looked up at Inuyasha who was eating his banana split.

"Inuyasha?" Sango asked, finally calm enough to talk.

He looked up from his food. "Hm?" He responded.

"Well" She paused for a second to wipe her mouth clean of her milkshake before continuing. "Why aren't you doing anything to make Kagome stop laughing?" She asked again looking at her best friend who was still laughing like a maniac. She sighed and shook her head.

Inuyasha shrugged and leaned back against the booth that they were sitting in. "I dunno. It all depends how many of the those stupid milkshakes she had." He told her and opened one of his eyes to look at Sango. "By the way, how many did she have?"

She put a finger on her chin and looked up at the ceiling thinking. "Well, she had...." She said, pausing to think. She snapped her fingers and smiled. "She had 3."

Inuyasha almost fell out of the booth at Sango's answer to his question. "N-Nani?! She had three?!" He exclaimed in anger and sat back down. Inuyasha laid his head on the table and stared at nothing.

"Well? How long will it take for her to stop?" Sango asked.

"Inuyasha snapped out of his daze and paused before answering. "Well, since it's Kagome and not her brother...it'll take about...5 more minuets." He told her simply and they both stared at Kagome while she laughed. Miroku lay forgotten about by his friends on the floor. "Ha ha ha..pretty birds.." Miroku mumbled.

5 Minutes later....

Inuyasha was about to throw Miroku out the window of the shop. But, before he could even get up he heard a small thump next to him. Inuyasha whirled around and much to their surprise, Kagome was lying face down on the table booth.

Sango leaned back and smiled, still looking at her friend. "Wow...Inuyasha you were right!" She said with stars in her eyes.

However, Inuyasha wasn't worried about what Sango or anybody else for that matter had to say at the moment. His mind was focused on one thing and ONE THING ONLY. And that was Kagome.

He scooted over to her quickly poked her head. It wasn't normal for Kagome to pass out as soon as she was finished laughing. Normally - mainly in their childhood - she would drink water, something that she could get her hands on, non-stop for about 5 or 6 minutes! Then, she would pass out either in his lap or on a bed or a couch. ( If he wasn't there. )

He continued to poke her. He started to panic. What if something was wrong with her or she had trouble breathing and that was why she passed out. Before he could grab her and start to shake her, he heard a light snoring sound coming from right in front of him. He looked at Kagome's passed out form and concentrated.
That sound was coming from....Kagome. His eye twitched and Miroku started to wake up from his daze. Inuyasha jumped down from the table and bonked Miroku on the back of his head and Miroku, again, fell into unconsciousness. Inuyasha dusted off his hands and picked Kagome up bridal style and ordered Sango to drag Miroku out to Kagome's car. Sango sighed and did as she was told.

As soon as Kagome was buckled in in the front passenger side and Miroku right behind Inuyasha, who was sitting in the driver's seat - since Kagome was out cold - and then Sango took a seat behind Kagome and settled down. "So, what happened to Kagome?" Sango asked.

"She fell asleep." Inuyasha told her and they arrived at Miroku's house. Since he finally woke up, he said goodnight and waved goodbye as they drove off. Miroku sighed and frowned. "Now...where's the ice?" He asked to no one in particular and shut the door to his house closed.

Inuyasha sighed. He couldn't walk to his house from Kagome's. He picked up his phone as soon as they reached a red light and he sent his mother a text.

It read:

Hey mom, the concert was great and we did wonderful. We went to Dairy Queen right around the corner there and Kagome had 3 milkshakes so..she passed out. I'm taking her and Sango home now in her car. Since it's already 11:45 I'm just gonna crash at her house. Okay?

He pressed the 'send' button and his mother sent him her respond not even 5 seconds later. It also read:

Hey sweetie, Good for you guys! I hope that Kagome's alright and take care of her. Alright. I'll see you sometime tomorrow okay? Make sure to thank her parents and behave. Goodnight sweetie! Love you.

He smiled and responded:

Thanks, don't worry I will. Goodnight and I love you too mom. <3

The light turned green and he put his phone back in his lap and once they got to Kagome's house he picked up the sleeping Kagome and walked inside.

There was note on the counter and it read:

Dear Sango and Kagome:

We heard that you guys did well at your performance today and we just wanted to let you know that we had won a prize in a contest to go to Kyoto, Japan for a week. By the time that you get back from your concert we'll be on a plane. We'll see you guys again on Friday. ( A week from today ) Love you guys.

Love,

Mom, Souta, and Gramps

Sango smiled and sighed. "What?" Inuyasha asked and she smiled and shook her head.

Inuyasha didn't say anything and they walked towards Kagome and Sango's room. Inuyasha had been in their room and knew everything. Her family was rich and so was his. Her room was about twice the size of a master bedroom. One side was clearly marked as Sango's and the other side was Kagome's. The two rooms were separated by a door. Sango ordered Inuyasha to lie Kagome on her bed while she waved Inuyasha into her room and she locked the door so he couldn't get in while she was changing Kagome and herself into their pajamas.

With the help of Inuyasha, they blew up the blow up bed for him and she went into Kagome's parent's room and grabbed a XXL T-shirt for him and a pair of shorts from their late father's closet.

She waited outside while he changed and then she made sure that Kagome was alright before saying goodnight to her friend/sister and Inuyasha before walking into her room and leaving the door open.

"You can close it if you want to Inuyasha. But, just in case you need something...don't bother to ask me. Okay?" She said smiled when he nodded at her.

"Okay." He said and watched as Sango left. He climbed onto the air mattress and got settled. He turned onto his side to face Kagome as she slept in her bed. He sighed and shook his head.
Idiot. He thought and he closed his eyes, quickly falling into a deep slumber. I guess that's why I love you then. He blushed at what he thought and surrendered to the wings of slumber completely.
